Electrical Rewiring and panel up grade

If your home is 50 or more years old, you should at least consider having your wiring inspected by an experienced pro, as it may feature dated knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring component. Fortunately for homeowners, rewiring is typically a once-in-a-generation home expense. But considering the risks of improper or outdated wiring, it’s an upgrade you might not want to put off. In 2014 (the most recent year data is available), the U.S. Fire Administration attributed 23,900 residential fires to electrical malfunction.

Wood Decks

Go with a composite deck or stick with traditional  pressure treated wood. You’ll get a durable and long-lasting outdoor destination and increase the value of your home.

Composite Deck vs Natural Wood

You’ll be delighted at what kind of outdoor decking you can build with composite wood. If you can imagine it, you can build it. Because composite wood is a man-made blend of recycled wood fibers and recycled plastic, you can get it in any color, shape and size. Natural wood is more affordable and can be painted or stained any color. Both decking options will provide long-lasting outdoor living.

Stucco

Traditional masonry stucco is a cement-based plaster that is applied over walls and other surfaces inside and outside of buildings. It is made from cement, sand, and lime and hardens into a highly durable material that requires little maintenance. Like traditional decorative plaster, stucco can be troweled, brushed, or otherwise textured to create a variety of finish effects. Stucco typically is applied over a galvanized wire mesh called lath, which helps the stucco adhere to the supporting structure and strengthens the entire assembly.

Stucco usually is mixed on-site and is applied in three coats.

Retrofitting

Retrofitting an existing building can oftentimes be more cost-effective than building a new facility. Since buildings consume a significant amount of energy, particularly for heating and cooling, and because existing buildings comprise the largest segment of the built environment, it is important to initiate energy conservation retrofits to reduce energy consumption and the cost of heating, cooling, and lighting buildings. But conserving energy is not the only reason for retrofitting existing buildings. The goal should be to create a high-performance building by applying the integrated, whole-building design process, to the project during the planning or charrette phase that ensures all key design objectives are met.
